Our journey in faith to adopt this little boy Josiah from China

Josiah, or Yang Heng Hai, was an orphan from China who is a wonderful, patient, sweet, and ingenious little boy who was in need of a family. We felt the Lord calling us to bring this beautiful child into our family, and He provided beautifully. Some people would call Josiah a special needs child. Others, a child with special needs. To us he is just special. Josiah was born without the use of either of his arms and had 2 club feet. However, Josiah has been able to overcome these things and do many amazing things.

We Are DTC!!!!

As of April 1st our dossier was on its way to China! It feels like we are entering the home stretch of this journey. We are waiting for our dossier to be logged in to China, which generally happens within a week or two after the dossier is sent off. Then we wait for China to review our dossier and send us the LOA (Letter of Acceptance). The LOA is China asking us if Josiah is still the child we want to adopt and once we say yes travel is not too far down the road. We will need to apply for citizenship for him and once that is approved we are issued an article 5 from the US consulate in Guangzhou, China and then we are issued TA, travel approval!!!

Pray for everything to go smoothly and quickly during the rest of this process and pray for the rest of our financial needs to be met. We are only saving for travel now so we can bring this joyful little guy home!!

  1. Just checking in to see how the process is going.
Great news! I'm so excited for your family and for Josiah! Here's my blog that I just started up again. It's a continuation of my blog from when we went to China to adopt our daughter Savannah 3 years ago.

We are still waiting for our homestudy to be completed and then we can mail it to our agency and then wait for Ministry Approval from our province.

Looking forward to hearing news of travel!

  4. So great to hear from all of you! Tracy I look forward to following your blog. I am sure you can't wait to be DTC Tracy! It seems like you are close. Liz and Shelly I am already following your blogs. Shelly I am not sure if I am listed as a follower but I have alot of blogs I am following that are just in my favorite websites. I have so many it would take so much time to sign up for each blog so I have been putting off signing up for them all. It would be so exciting to meet you both in person if we ended up in China at the same time. I was telling Brian how funny that would be. We have contact online and we live in the same country but we finally meet in China. Lol.
