Our journey in faith to adopt this little boy Josiah from China

Josiah, or Yang Heng Hai, was an orphan from China who is a wonderful, patient, sweet, and ingenious little boy who was in need of a family. We felt the Lord calling us to bring this beautiful child into our family, and He provided beautifully. Some people would call Josiah a special needs child. Others, a child with special needs. To us he is just special. Josiah was born without the use of either of his arms and had 2 club feet. However, Josiah has been able to overcome these things and do many amazing things.

Travel Approval!!!

We received notification that we have received our travel approval today. We are shooting for a consulate date of October 18th, which would mean we would be leaving for China about October 6th. Please pray that we can lock in this date, as this will allow us to bring Josiah home soon. With the Guangzhou trade fair going from the middle to the end of October, we don't want to be pushed back to November. But, none the less, the Lords Will be done. He has been planning this adoption since before we were even born, I'm sure He knows what's best. I just want to say thank you to you all for your thoughts, encouragements, and prayers as this has been a long journey, but it has also been the greatest faith building experience of my entire life. I will be sure to update with more details as they become available.

In His service,

Brian

  1. You don't know me but I've become a follower of your blog a little while back...you guys are just ahead of us in the process. We are waiting for our LSC right now, our LID was July 27 so you can imagine our anxiousness! We, too, have had to fundraise, work extra jobs, etc...we've been so incredibly blessed!! And, when I read your last post about how adoption has been a huge "faith builder" I just had to comment!! I SO AGREE! I've said those very words sooooo many times. Adoption has been THE biggest blessing and faith builder in our lives and our little girl isn't even here yet!! I've never experienced God's presence in my life like I have with this experience. I wish everyone could do it just for that experience in faith!! Will be praying for you guys and will be watching your progess!!! Many blessings and God's speed to your sweet Josiah!
