Our journey in faith to adopt this little boy Josiah from China

Josiah, or Yang Heng Hai, was an orphan from China who is a wonderful, patient, sweet, and ingenious little boy who was in need of a family. We felt the Lord calling us to bring this beautiful child into our family, and He provided beautifully. Some people would call Josiah a special needs child. Others, a child with special needs. To us he is just special. Josiah was born without the use of either of his arms and had 2 club feet. However, Josiah has been able to overcome these things and do many amazing things.

Homestudy Update

Just wanted to post another update, we will be starting our homestudy next week, Monday and Thursday, with the final vist on Tuesday 11/23/10. After we have an approved homestudy we will be sending off our I-800 which is our immigration paperwork for Josiah. We need the completed homestudy and our I-797 in order to complete our dossier paperwork. Please pray that the Lord helps this process to go smoothly, it is our hope that we will be sending off our dossier sometime shortly after the beginning of the year, but I am trusthing in God's perfect timing and if it is earlier or later, that is fine by me :)

In His service,

Brian

  1. Hello,

My name is Mitchell Steele. About 18 months ago my family traveled to China to get our little girl. It was an experience that will never be forgotten. It is amazing to watch her grow up in her new family.

After experiencing this first hand and seeing all the amazing kids that need a loving family, I have developed a heart for adoption. This year my family has decided to do something we called "Adopt an Adoptive Family". Each member of my family has went through many different blogs online looking for an adoptive family that could use prayer. Each member of the family was then to select one family and then to continually pray for that family. I was touched by your story and have selected you guys. I will be praying for your family through your adoptive journey.

    God bless,
    Mitchell Steele
